the odd couple (saks, 1968)

the archetypal buddy comedy, the odd couple is the kind of movie my grandfather would have shown me when i was 7 and to his dismay i would have hated. i'm glad to report my taste in stupidity has matured to the point where i enjoyed watching this, but at times it's a bit overly play-like and a bit overplayed. the writer, director, and actors are all too talented for this glorified big-screen sitcom (which is what it eventually became?).
