mr. smith goes to washington (capra, 1939)

all i could think while watching this was that if the tables were turned a real-life 2008 jim taylor and his more-in-the-spotlight partner mr. pa[y]ne could make one helluva mr. bush goes to washington satire.

on another note, though--how freakin' heartwarming. capra rawks.
