one of the american cannon i embarrassingly had not seen (many/most of the posts here will be implied to start this way...), butch cassidy and the sundance kid lived up to most of the hype. given that i had had about 8 hours of sleep in the 68 hours before watching the film, four of which were in a bed filled with challah crumbs and salt (long story) and four of which were on an airplane, i was not exactly in prime mode to concentrate on what is considered one of the greatest films of all time, but nonetheless i enjoyed it immensely. the lack of sleep may be why i felt a bit of the editing was disjointed, but this may also be because it is a product of its era. the script certainly is trademark william goldman, and as someone who grew up madly in love with both the princess bride and maverick it is nice to see where he started and what he makes for a target audience above age ten. fantastic writing, superb acting, and beautifully shot.
stark list scale: 4/10

PLEASE NOTE: there is a major difference between the scale with which modern movies are being judged and the "classics scale" with which the...well...good ones are being judged.
