PLEASE NOTE: there is a major difference between the scale with which modern movies are being judged and the "classics scale" with which the...well...good ones are being judged.

*******SPOILERS BELOW*******

bruno (charles, 2009)

my favorite character from the show (well--flip flops with two others) didn't quite translate to the big screen. half of the brilliance in bruno's tv persona is imagining what goes on behind the scenes, and i didn't love seeing that concocted on screen here. i also felt like it failed where borat succeeded: borat nudged and people obliged, bruno annoyed and people got angry. anger is funny; ignorance is funnier.

8/10
