to be fair, i didn't really give this one the attention it deserves, being as i had just finished reading the script, and i was working on the homework for it as i watched, but nonetheless it was really a fantastic film (while my viewing may have been hampered by my reading, the reading is aiding in its favorable review). the story is heartbreaking, and as expected lynch gives it the treatment it deserves. he tells it beautifully, with fantastic makeup and set design and direction, and a perfect score.
